Christmas shopping is done!
Tonight Josh and I finished our Christmas shopping minus Kaitlynn. We saved her for last because she is getting the largest number of gifts. It is so nice to actually be done early for once! All the gifts are wrapped, now all we need to do is put up our Christmas Tree. I have a feeling that will happen much later because of Kaitlynn. My sweet little daughter is very curious and loves shiny things that light up. I fear the tree will hit the ground way too many times if I put it up right after Thanksgiving. We thankfully stayed well within our budget. We have a very obvious theme this year.

A little about us

Josh and I are a happily married couple, you could almost say newly weds still. We were married on February 14, 2009. We have a one year old daughter who is fast approaching her second birthday. We have a beautiful 6 year old great dane named Andie. Josh and I met 4 years ago at Pin Oaks nursing home. We couldn't stand each other. He was my boss and I was the annoying, young, know it all, CNA that he had to deal with every other weekend. We soon became friends and realized we had a lot in common. We started dating off and on that year and became official and serious around Christmas of 2006. We moved in together in January 2007. We were engaged in May 2007 at a Cardinal's game. Apparantly Josh had called and talked to both of my parents and asked for permission to marry me. They happily agreed and joined us for the ballgame. With all of my family present my darling Josh asked me to marry him. In August 2007 we found out we were pregnant with little miss Kaitlynn. My beautiful daughter was born on March 9, 2008. She weighed 5 pounds 4 ounces and was 17 inches long. She was the most amazing thing I ever saw. She was premature but a tough kid with an agenda. That kid was going to do anything she set her mind to. Proving all the doctors wrong she was home in 6 days. Since she was born 6 weeks premature the doctors had suggested she be in the hospital at least 4 weeks. Like I said, she's one tough cookie. In August 2008 we made the move to Columbia MO. We moved into a lovely little 3 bedroom home in southwest Columbia. Josh got a job at the VA hospital here in Columbia and I started working at The Bluffs nursing home. In February 2009 Josh and I got married finally. It was one of the happiest days of my life. In March 2009 I went back to school at Columbia College but decided that school wasn't for me. In August 2009 I made the decision to head back to Moberly Area Community College and finish the degree I set out to get when I graduated high school. In November 2009 I applied to nursing school. Currently I am still waiting to hear back on the decision. I did retake my ACT and I got a 26 on the test. It was awesome! I am also starting a new job on November 30th at Landmark Hospital here in Columbia. I am very excited. Josh is starting to look into different programs for his BSN and possibly his MSN. I am very proud of him. He is a great father and a great husband. I will certainly look forward to adding updates to my new blog.
The first blog post
Hello all! I am trying my hand at this blogging thing. My daughter's babysitter, Kristyn, has a blog and I was so impressed with it I thought I'd give it a try myself. There is certainly a lot going on in the life of the Sumowski's right now and I'd love to have a place for my friends and family to be able to keep up with us, see recent photos, and not have to log into a social networking site to do it. Bear with me as I go through the process of trying to figure this out. It might be just a little shaky at first but I'm sure I'll figure it out. :)
